I have been painting watercolors for nearly four decades and I draw inspiration for my art from the awesome beauty discovered through observation of everyday things. Most of my work is a result of time spent exploring the forests, fields and streams that surround my home in the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. I paint to capture, translate, and share with my viewers the uplifting, peaceful, and comforting emotions I experience through my frequent forays afield.
As a young man, a good friend and mentor informed me that I would be a truly wealthy person if I became an artist. At the time, I confused his words to mean I would have financial wealth. It was only later in life that I realized that he was speaking more about the richness of living the life of an artist, and developing the skill to observe, appreciate and value the beauty of life in the world.
